Poisoning is a very serious medical condition. Each year thousands of animals, both pets and strays, die from accidental poisonings. Common poisons include anti-freeze, pesticides, vermin control, etc.
Animals are also very adept at hiding their discomfort. Just because your pet doesn't appear sick, doesn't mean that they feel good. Due to the internal nature of poisons, your pet may be critically ill without showing many signs. If you suspect your pet has ingested poison, DO NOT wait for symptoms to develop! Bring your pet in to our clinic IMMEDIATELY or call poison control. Left untreated, animals can succumb to poison very quickly.
The ASPCA is your best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call (888) 426-4435. A $65 consultation fee may be applied to your credit card
